This year’s theme, “NGOs connect 19” was inspired by the quote above by the Co-founder of Charis Touch Foundation, Dzifa Tamakloe. So far, 11 NGOs; Banel International,Butterfly Effect Consult,The Godly Woman Foundation ,The Grace Foundation,Stand Up and Walk Foundation,Irule Foundation, Child Crest Foundation, Alvyderks Foundation, Dynamic United Stars Africa Foundation, Jacinta Steven’s foundation, and Global Youth Careave have accepted to be anomalous by collaborating to leave an everlasting imprint in the lives of the young girls at the Blessing Academy Orphanage.
The orphanage is located at Abotoase in the Northern part of the now Oti Region, the orphanage was first visited by the CEO of Charis Touch Foundation who was touched by the appalling situation in the Orphanage and decided to reach out without looking back.
According to Mr. Emmanuel the founder of the orphanage, he had lived in Accra for 11 years but kept having dreams where he saw himself among and surrounded by lots and lots of children so he decided to come to the town to start an orphanage. In 2006, he began with six children who were victims of a capsized boat on the Volta Lake. Currently, the home takes care of about one hundred and fifty children.
The crux of the issue rests on the fact that the kids sleep in about two mud houses and another two separate single rooms which are a total eyesore.
With joint efforts from our team and generous individuals, we strongly believe that destinies and lives will be shaped.
Our team is composed of various specialists in the medical and business field who would serve as mentors to these young girls. Most importantly, medical experts will teach these girls about personal hygiene and sexual reproductive health.
Our long term goal is to adopt this Orphanage and provide their pressing needs while mentoring them to break out and reach their fullest potentials.
Hence our sincere appeal to the general public to join a worthy cause through their benevolent donations.
Our main aim is to build a girls’ dormitory for the Orphanage which will promote their security and safety as young girls and further encourage them to focus on their educational goals and ambitions. The team will like to solicit for funds either in cash or kind. Building materials such as cement, iron rods, sand, roofing sheets and the like are all very welcomed.
This project is scheduled for December 2019! Let’s all support a worthy cause and put smiles on the faces of these young girls. Posterity will certainly remember your good deeds.
