Impact Network Global (I-GLOBAL) is gathering momentum as the maiden edition of The Africa Transformation Summit (Afritrans), 2022 is approaching.
AFRITRANS 2022 was launched under the theme “Propelling Africa into a Frontier of Innovation and Digital Wealth Creation” and will bring together over 1000 bright African minds in the government, the corporate world, non-profits, startups, and entrepreneurs as well as young students. The vision of this project is to be “Africa’s leading innovation festival, connecting innovation and resources for a continental transformation”, thus, encouraging and empowering innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit among the youth and also helping bridge the digital gap in the continent.
The event promises impactful personalities who are helping create the long-awaited digital transformation in Africa including Gilles Amadou from Senegal, Isaiah Brian Sovi from Zambia, Mark Pritchard, Country Manager for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Anthony Sarpong, Senior Partner at KPMG Ghana, Irma Ihumure, CEO and Founder of Global WIN Ltd based in Rwanda, and many exciting personalities. AFRITRANS has already garnered massive support from both the local and international community the event is targeted at.
Speaking on the purpose and timing of the event, Mr. Daniel Sarpong Jnr, the Founder & Executive Director of Impact Network Global remarked that he strongly believes that “It is time for Africa to rise and propel itself into a frontier of growth, digital wealth creation, and innovation. Africa today has seen high levels of unemployment leading to chaos and vices. The UN has estimated that Africa will have half of the world’s population growth by 2050, and I can only imagine what Africa will be if we do not set systems, structures and processes to equip, train and develop the growing population to ensure they are skilled and an advantage to the continent. And it is expedient that we bring together all these stakeholders to discuss the initiatives and insights on how to execute this and to connect innovation with resources, to guarantee this transformation” He further commented that “Africa is the future; given our youthful population, ingenious solutions and the resources Africa is blessed with”.
AFRITRANS is a fire blazing over Africa as a tour kickstarting on the 3rd of September in Accra, Ghana. The tour is scheduled to make stops in Rwanda, Morocco, Kenya, South Africa and 6 other countries in the next 10 years. The kickoff will have 3 keynote speakers, 2 Panels with 5 speakers on each panel, 4 virtual masterclass sessions. The organizers of the event estimate this project to impact over 50 million Africans directly and indirectly over the next decade.
Africa has been on a trajectory of growth and for this growth to be exponential, there is a necessity for Africans to rise up and take up the mantle. The continent is forecasted to double in population over the next 3 decades. This is both an opportunity and a challenge that needs to be addressed starting now. Impact Network Global hopes to do this by tackling 6 of the SDGs which the continent is most affected including SDGs 2, 5, 8, 9, and SDG 10.
